BUFFALO, NY – Monmouth University Baseball (24-24, 12-9) dropped the middle game of a three-game series on Thursday at Canisius College (24-23, 14-9 MAAC) 8-0.
Dixon Black and
Joey Ventresca each had two hits in the game for MU.
Canisius used the power of five home runs, the first four solo shots, to build the lead. Gibson Krzeminski hit one in the second and Trevor Henneman added one in the third before back-to-back homers preceded a two-run shot from Vinny Chiarenza in a four-run fifth.
MU put multiple runners on in the fourth but could not convert.
Mason Miller threw 1.1 scoreless, one-hit innings to end the afternoon.
