NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Seven different Hawks scored to propel the Monmouth women's lacrosse team to a 17-12 MAAC road win over Iona on Wednesday.

The Hawks (7-6, 2-2 MAAC) and Gaels (7-5, 0-4 MAAC) sat even at 7-7 early in the third quarter before a
Cassidy Orban goal sparked a 6-1 Monmouth run that lasted until the 13:59 mark of the fourth frame. Iona made it a three-goal game with 5:38 left to play, but the Hawks countered with three unanswered to seal the road victory.

Cassidy Orban posted a standout offensive performance with six goals on nine shots to lead all Monmouth scorers. The graduate student attack also added a team-high six draw controls and a pair of ground balls to her stat line.

Hope Steuerwald logged a hat trick after scoring three times on five shots.
Caroline Brennan,
Mary Kate George and
Maddie Murphy each posted multi-score outings with two goals apiece. Brennan also dished out a team-high three assists, tying her career-best mark.

Gina Verrone reeled in a team-high four ground balls, while
Shannon Feeley recorded three.
Madi Bednarik picked up her fifth win in goal and denied 11 shots in the win.
