EDISON, NJ - Monmouth University men's lacrosse junior Matt Soutar has been named the MAAC Face-Off Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

Soutar went 13-of-19 at the X in Monmouth's game against Manhattan on Friday afternoon and tied his own program record with 11 ground balls. Soutar now has three games with at least 10 ground balls this season and has won more than 50 percent of his faceoffs in four consecutive games. On the season, Soutar is 104-204, good for 51 percent at the X.

Monmouth travels to Poughkeepsie, NY for a must-win matchup with Marist on Saturday April 30. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ beginning at 1 p.m.
