MONMOUTH CRUISES TO SENIOR DAY WIN OVER MARIST

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Eleven different Hawks scored a goal as the Monmouth women's lacrosse team cruised to an 18-9 senior day victory over Marist on Saturday.
 
Monmouth (10-6, 5-2 MAAC) jumped out to an 11-1 advantage over the Red Foxes (2-12, 0-6 MAAC) after the first quarter with seven different Hawks tallying a score. Monmouth maintained the double-digit lead for majority of the contest en route to securing the home win.
 
Mya Brock and Ella Spears each posted four-point outings after scoring twice and dishing out a pair of assists. Caroline Brennan contributed with a four-point game as well after she scored once and handed out a game-high three helpers.
 
Danielle McNeely and Cassidy Orban both logged three-point performances after tallying two goals and an assist. Orban added a career-high 13 draw controls to her stat line to break the single season program record, passing Megan Hart '21.  
 
On the defensive end, Shannon Feeley caused a team-high two turnovers and recorded two ground balls. Alynne Abney recorded a team-best three ground balls to go along with a caused turnover. Madi Bednarik notched her eighth win in between the pipes after allowing just two goals in the first half with four saves.

-Mary Kate George, Ella Spears and Hope Steuerwald also logged multi-goal outings.
-Maddie Murphy dished out a career-high two assists.
-The Hawks recorded their 13th straight game with double-digit goals scored.
-The Hawks improved to 7-4 all-time versus Marist.
-Monmouth won its 10th game of the season.
-It's the most wins in a season for the program since the 2019 team won 12.
-The Hawks extended their winning streak to a season-best five games.
-Monmouth last won five consecutive games during the 2021 season from March 26 through April 18.
