MONMOUTH BESTED ON ROAD BY ARMY

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Monmouth women's lacrosse team fell to Army West Point, 18-13, on Saturday afternoon in a road non-conference game.
 
The Black Knights (4-2, 0-0 Patriot League) got out to an early lead and went into the half up 10-5. The Hawks (2-2, 0-0 MAAC) pulled within three, 12-9, with 2:42 left in the third after Cassidy Orban found the back of the net on three separate occasions. However, Army was able to maintain its advantage and grab the home win.
 
Orban and Caroline Brennan each logged a six-point outing in the game. Orban scored a career-high six goals, while Brennan tallied three goals to pair with three assists. Liv Fanelli got involved offensively with two goals and a career-high two assists.
 
Defensively, Shannon Feeley and Brianna Falco combined for five of Monmouth's eight caused turnovers. Feeley finished with a season-high three to go along with two ground balls, while Falco was responsible for two caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls.

-Five different Hawks recorded a goal.
-Monmouth recorded seven assists on 13 goals.
