MONMOUTH TOPPED BY STETSON IN ROAD TILT

DELAND, Fla. – The Monmouth women's lacrosse team fell to Stetson, 17-12, on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Stetson (3-4) held a one-goal advantage after the first quarter, but opened the game in the second frame by outscoring Monmouth, 6-1, to grab an 11-5 lead going into the halftime break. Despite outscoring the Hatters in the second half, the Hawks (5-3) were unable to overcome the deficit as Stetson claimed the home win.
 
Cassidy Orban recorded a hat trick with three goals to go along with career-high totals in draw controls (9) and caused turnovers (3). Caroline Brennan also finished with a hat trick after tallying three scores to pair with an assist for a four-point outing.
 
Hope Steuerwald and Liv Fanelli each notched multi-goal performances, while Carli Mangum logged three points on a goal and two assists.

Alynne Abney, Danielle McNeeley and Gina Verrone combined for six caused turnovers after recording two apiece.
