HAWKS BESTED AT HOME BY TEMPLE

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth women's lacrosse team was topped by Temple, 13-10, on Wednesday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.
 
The Hawks (5-4) held an early 5-1 lead in the second quarter before the Owls (7-3) put up seven unanswered goals to go into the half with an 8-5 advantage. Temple used a 5-2 second-half run to put the game away en route to securing the 13-10 victory.
 
Caroline Brennan and Cassidy Orban paced the Monmouth offense after combining for seven of the team's 10 goals. Brennan wrapped up the afternoon with a five-point outing on four goals and an assist, while Orban tallied three scores to pair with a game-high eight draw controls.
 
Ella Spears also chipped in with four points and was the team's primary facilitator with three assists.
 
Defensively, Gina Verrone notched a pair of caused turnovers with two ground balls. Shannon Feeley recorded a team-high four ground balls to go along with a caused turnover.
