JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Monmouth women's lacrosse team erased a halftime deficit with a strong second-half defensive performance to capture a 12-10 win over Harvard in the Sunshine State on Monday night.

The Hawks (5-2, 0-0 MAAC) trailed by one, 8-7, at the midway point before evening the score in the third quarter after
Mya Brock scored off the feed from
Caroline Brennan. As Monmouth went on to eventually gain the lead with a 4-0 fourth-quarter run, Harvard (3-2, 1-0 Ivy) was held scoreless for a 25-minute stretch.

The Crimson's two goals in second half did not come until the final 4:33 of play and it turned out to be too late as the Hawks maintained their advantage and secured the two-goal victory.

Madi Bednarik was instrumental to the Hawks' defensive efforts in the second half as the sophomore goalkeeper made a season-high eight saves in 30 minutes of action.

Offensively, Brennan paced Monmouth with a game-high five points on four goals and an assist. Brock,
Mary Kate George and
Hope Steuerwald each tallied a pair of scores. George added an assist, three ground balls and a caused turnover to her stat line.
