George Papas became the 26
th player in the program's Division I history to reach 1,000 career points.
Papas reached the 1,000-point marked at 12:57 of the second half, when he was fouled from three. His second foul shot got him to 1,000 points and his third cut the deficit to six at 42-36. Marist answered that with a 20-4 run to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Marcus McClary and Shavar Reynolds each hit threes in the opening minutes to give the Hawks the lead, with MU up three early after a pair of
Walker Miller free throws. Marist posted a 13-0 run to lead by 10 and ultimately 14 at the half.
