Men's and women's basketball season ticket holders will be mailed (and emailed) instructions on how to obtain a vaccine credential which will require them to show their vaccine cards once and receive a credential to speed up entrance to events. Additionally, there will be separate entrances for students, season ticket holders and the general public. More information on those locations will be available on MonmouthHawks.com
OPENING TIP
-Saint Peter's is the only MAAC squad that Monmouth has yet to see this season.
-A win would give the Hawks their seventh home win of the season, the most wins at OceanFirst Bank Center since the 2017-18 team finished with seven.
-The Hawks recently completed the regular season sweep of Quinnipiac. It was the first time the program accomplished that feat since the 2003-04 campaign.
-The Peacocks have dropped two in a row and three of their last five. They are looking for their first road win since defeating Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 22, 73-52.
INSIDE THE SERIES
-Monday's matchup between Monmouth and Saint Peter's marks the 43rd all-time meeting between the two sides and the first this season.
-The Hawks have experienced a great deal of success opposite the Peacocks, winning 17 of the last 21 meetings. One of Monmouth's two wins last season came against Saint Peter's on Feb. 14, when the Hawks won 70-60 in Jersey City.
-Monmouth has won six in a row against Saint Peter's in West Long Branch with four of the six being decided by double digits.
CAPITALIZING AT THE CHARITY STRIPE
Monmouth had success at the foul line in the win over Quinnipiac on Saturday, knocking down 12-of-14 (86%) foul shots. From the 1:43 mark of the fourth quarter to the final horn, the Hawks went 9-of-10 at the line. It was the Hawks' best free throw shooting percentage in a game this season with double-digit attempts and the most efficient foul shooting performance in a game since burying 12-of-14 (86%) against Manhattan on Jan. 25, 2021.
HOME SWEET HOME
After topping Quinnipiac, 64-55, this past Saturday, the Hawks picked up their sixth home victory of the season. It's the most wins inside OceanBank Center for the program since the 2018-19 team won six.
REACHING 60 POINTS
The Monmouth women's basketball team has scored at least 60 points on nine occasions this season. When reaching the 60-point mark, the Hawks are 8-1.
