OPENING TIP
-A win against Marist would put Monmouth at 3-0 to begin MAAC play and mark the longest regular season conference win streak since the 2015-16 squad captured four straight to close out the year. It would also mark Monmouth's longest overall win streak since the 2018-19 team won four consecutive outings from Nov. 21 through Dec. 2.
-Monmouth has not opened conference play with three straight wins since winning four in a row as a member of the NEC to begin the 2002-03 campaign.
-The Hawks will look to secure their sixth road win in a row, the longest streak in program history since the 2003-04 season.
-Monmouth is coming off its first win against Quinnipiac since Jan. 19, 2017 and the first road victory opposite the Bobcats since March 6, 2012.
-Marist is looking to right the ship after dropping two straight and eight of its last nine outings. The Red Foxes most recently fell to Siena, 69-53, at home this past Thursday.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-Saturday's matchup between Monmouth and Marist marks the 48th all-time meeting between the two sides.
-The Red Foxes have claimed each of the previous eight matchups, including the last nine played in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
-Monmouth is in search of its first road win against Marist since Jan. 25, 1995 when the Hawks topped the Red Foxes, 64-46.

ON THE ATTACK IN THE MAAC
Monmouth has opened the 2021-22 MAAC slate with back-to-back wins over Iona and Quinnipiac. It's the first time in program history that the Hawks have started MAAC play with consecutive wins. The last time Monmouth claimed two straight victories to begin conference play was during the 2010-11 season when the Hawks were a member of the NEC and bested Central Connecticut State and Bryant.

A WIN IN HAMDEN
The Monmouth women's basketball team secured a 70-60 road victory over the MAAC preseason favorites, Quinnipiac, on Jan. 6. It was the Hawks' first win opposite the Bobcats since Jan. 19, 2017 and the program's first road victory in Hamden, Conn., since March 6, 2012. The 70 points were the most a Monmouth team has scored against Quinnipiac since Feb. 25, 2008.

IN EXCLUSIVE COMPANY
Through Monmouth's first 11 games, the Hawks currently hold a 7-4 overall record. Head coach Ginny Boggess is just the third head coach in program history to begin her coaching career with at least seven wins in the team's first 11 outings. She joins Mickey McGlade (7-4 – 1984-85) and Michele Baxter (8-3 – 2004-05).

FINISHING STRONG
Over Monmouth's last six contests, the Hawks are outscoring the opposition 114-66 in the fourth quarter. The Hawks are shooting 45 percent from the field as a team, while holding the opposition to a 29-percent shooting clip in the closing 10 minutes. Three of Monmouth's last six opponents have been held to single-digit points in the fourth quarter.

ROAD WARRIORS
Despite starting 0-2 away from West Long Branch to open the season, Monmouth has gone on to capture five consecutive road victories. It's the longest road win streak in program history since the 2003-04 team won six in a row. During the current streak, Monmouth has held a +11.8 scoring margin while knocking down 45 percent of its shots from the field. The Hawks' perimeter defense has made a difference, limiting the opposition to a 22-percent clip from long range, while Monmouth has connected on 40 percent of its treys.

THE 20-POINT MARK
Graduate student guard Stella Clark has posted back-to-back performances with 20 or more points scored after tallying 27 at Iona and 20 at Quinnipiac. She is the first Hawk to accomplish that feat since Sierra Green '20. Green did it during her junior season (2018-19) in games against George Washington (12/2) and Lafayette (12/7).

DEFENDING THE PERIMETER
Monmouth currently leads the MAAC and is tied for 24th in Division I with Purdue, Georgia Tech and Liberty in opponent 3-point field goal percentage. Opponents are shooting just 25 percent from deep opposite the Hawks. Monmouth has held each of its previous six opponents under 30 percent from beyond the arc.

FOUR HAWKS A SCORING
Four different Hawks recorded double-digit points in each of the team's last two road wins at St. Francis Brooklyn (Dec. 20) and Quinnipiac (Jan. 6). Monmouth last had four or more Hawks reach double-digit scoring in back-to-back games on Dec. 20 (vs. FDU) & Dec. 29 (vs. St. Francis Brooklyn) during the 2015-16 slate. The last time the Hawks posted at least two games with four players with double-digit points was during the 2018-19 season. That year, Monmouth achieved that mark on three separate occasions.
