PHILADELPHIA, PA – Despite outshooting its opponent, Monmouth University Men's Soccer (2-3-2) closed out its 2021 non-conference schedule Saturday night at the University of Pennsylvania (4-2-1) by dropping a closely contested 1-0 decision.
 
Penn scored in the 10^th minute when Issac McGinnis headed one home off a corner that just snuck through the outstretched arms of Hawks goalkeeper Sean Murray. MU outshot the Quakers on the night and had several quality chances, including one late from Julian Gomez, but could not find the equalizer. Penn keeper Dane Jacomen registered five saves for the home team to keep the Hawks off the board.
 
The game marked the end of Monmouth's seven-game non-conference schedule.
