Despite a strong second half comeback, Monmouth was defeated by Saint Peter's on Saturday night, 70-60. After falling behind by 22 points, Monmouth battled back with an 18-2 run in the second half. The Hawks later got within five with just 3:10 remaining following a three-pointer from freshman

Saint Peter's was tabbed to finish ninth in the MAAC Preseason Poll. Redshirt senior Taiah Thornton was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team prior to the season, and leads the team at 14.5 points per game. Redshirt senior guard Kendrea Williams is also averaging double-digits at 12.8 points per contest. Freshman forward Ajia James contributes 6.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
