NEWARK, N.J. – The Monmouth women's basketball team secured its second consecutive road victory after defeating NJIT, 62-53, in a non-conference game on Wednesday night.

Three straight 3-pointers by
Stella Clark to close out the first half sparked a 21-4 run for the Hawks (4-3, 0-0 MAAC) that spanned over seven minutes and gave Monmouth a double-digit lead that proved to be insurmountable. During that stretch, Clark and
Kaci Donovan combined for five 3-pointers as the Hawks shot 50 percent from the field and 63 percent from deep opposite the Highlanders (4-6, 0-0 America East).

Clark posted her best offensive outing in a Monmouth uniform, finishing the night with a game-high 19 points to go along with three assists and three boards. Donovan had an efficient scoring outing, logging 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting with four made 3-pointers on five attempts. Â

Ariana Vanderhoop tallied eight in the scoring column, while
Belle Kranbuhl recorded seven to pair with a game-high 12 rebounds.
