MSAAC DONATES TO AUDREY W. CLARK SCHOOL

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University student-athletes, working with Monmouth's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (MSAAC), came together to raise money and buy gifts for students at Audrey W. Clark School in nearby Long Branch.

Representatives from each of Monmouth's Division I programs donated gifts and helped deliver the presents to the school on Friday afternoon. The Audrey W. Clark School serves low-income students and their families, many who do not get to celebrate the holidays in typical fashion.

"We were looking to continue serving our local community being that we attend a small school that has the ability to have an impact on those around us," MSAAC President and men's soccer student-athlete John Askin said. "Audrey W. Clark presented us a wonderful opportunity to give back to those who are less fortunate. The outpouring support from the entire Monmouth Athletics community was tremendous and we look forward to continuing this great initiative for many years to come."

The money raised was used to create holiday baskets with toys for each family. In total, MSAAC raised more than $2,900 that was used to fill the donation baskets and purchase gift cards for local grocery stores.

This year marks the second straight holiday season that MSAAC has delivered gifts to the students and families at Audrey W. Clark School.
