Monmouth Notes

OPENING TIP
-Monmouth is in search of a bounce-back victory after falling to Providence on the road in its previous outing.
-A win would extend the Hawks' home win streak to three games, the longest for the program since the 2017-18 campaign.
-Sacred Heart has not played since Nov. 21 and is looking to halt a two-game skid.
-Thursday's contest is just the second road game of the season for the Pioneers, who are currently 1-0 away from home.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-Thursday's matchup between Monmouth and Sacred Heart marks the 33rd all-time meeting between the two teams.
-Monmouth has come out on top in each of the previous three matchups and seven of the last nine.
-The Hawks and Pioneers last faced off on Nov. 25, 2018 in Fairfield, Conn., where Monmouth claimed a 55-50 victory. Lucy Thomas was the only current Monmouth player to score in the road win, tallying 11 to pair with a team-best eight rebounds.

GIVE A GIFT, GET A GIFT
For the month of December Monmouth men's and women's basketball will be doing the Give a Gift, Get a Gift Promotion. If a fan brings a new, unwrapped toy to ANY of the games on 12/2, 12/10, 12/19, 12/22, they will receive a voucher for two tickets to an upcoming game.

STAYING HOT AT HOME
Monmouth has won each of its first two home games to start the 2021-22 season after capturing victories over Navy (Nov. 12) and Saint Joseph's (Nov. 17). The back-to-back wins at OceanFirst Bank Center marked Monmouth's first two-game home win streak since Dec. 7 and Dec. 17 of 2019. The Hawks have not won their first two home games of a season since the 2010-11 campaign when the team came out on top in its first five home tilts.

EVERYBODY GETTING INVOLVED
Ten different Hawks got into the scoring column in three of the first four games of the 2021-22 season. It marks the first time since the 2018-19 campaign that 10 or more Hawks scored in a game on multiple occasions during the same season. That year, Monmouth had seven outings in which 10 or more Hawks recorded at least one point.

LIMITING THE OPPOSITION
Monmouth has gotten it done on the defensive end at home this season, holding each of its previous two opponents to less than 50 points. The last time the Hawks did not allow two straight opponents to eclipse 50 points in a game was on Jan. 9 and Jan. 11 during the 2019-20 campaign against Fairfield and Iona.
