LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt junior
Jen Louro's potential game-winning contested shot rimmed out at the buzzer, as the shorthanded Hawks fell to Manhattan on Monday, 49-48. Monmouth was left with just seven active players following a pregame injury, and took the lead over the preseason MAAC favorite four different times in the fourth quarter. Louro led the team with 14 points on the night, including four three-pointers in a career-high 39 minutes. Freshman
Jania Hall added nine points in the loss, shooting 3-of-5 from the floor. Junior
Lucy Thomas also netted nine points, including three free throws to cut the deficit to one with 46 seconds remaining.
SCOUTING THE RIDER BRONCS
Rider was selected seventh in the MAAC Preseason Poll. After earning a share of the Regular Season Championship last season, the Broncs lost their top three scorers. This season, freshman guard Makayla Firebaugh leads the team with 9.6 points per game. Freshman forward Raphaela Toussaint is adding 7.9 points and a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. RIDER
The Hawks hold a 29-20 lead in the all-time series, but Rider has won seven of the last eight contests.
