Senior named as top kickoff returner in FCS

Lonnie Moore IV (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul VI) has been named as a First Team Preseason All-America selection by HERO Sports, the online publication announced on Thursday.

Moore averaged 27.8 yards per kickoff return in 2019, including a 93 yarder that went for a touchdown in Monmouth's second round playoff game at James Madison. The Sicklerville, NJ native had 529 kickoff return yards which was the third most in a single season for any Hawk. His averaged placed him fourth in the country in yards per return while he was one of eight players to return a kickoff for a touchdown.

Moore finished third in the conference for all-purpose yardage, earning first team all-league recognition at wide receiver. He led the Hawks with 1,022 yards on 74 receptions and was second with nine receiving touchdowns. His 1,251 career kickoff return yards trails only Mike Avent's record of 1,355 set between 2007-10.

Monmouth returns 17 starters from last year's team that went 11-3 and finished 12
th in the national rankings.
