WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - In support of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's voter registration initiative, a total of 20 Monmouth University Athletics teams have reached 100 percent participation among its eligible student-athletes and staff to vote.
"I am proud of the effort made by our MSAAC representatives and our student-athletes who have made registering to vote a priority," Vice President/Director of Athletics
Dr. Marilyn McNeil said. "Their insistence on having a voice in the election process and with the issues our society faces are an encouraging sign for the future of our country. It our responsibility as educators to provide the necessary resources to help our student-athletes make informed decisions in elections at the national, state and local level."
Monmouth's MAAC programs to complete their voter registration goals include baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's cross country, men's golf, women's golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's swimming, women's swimming, men's tennis, women's tennis and men's indoor/outdoor track and field. Monmouth's Bowling (MEAC), field hockey (America East) and football (Big South) teams each also reached 100 percent participation.
A total of 95 percent of all eligible student-athletes and coaches have registered to vote in the upcoming 2020 presidential election on November 3. For additional information or to register please visit MAACSports.com/Vote.
