NOTES AND QUOTES

"We were coming off a three-game losing streak, so we were just talking about getting back to what we do, which is being aggressive. I'm proud of how we came out. We still have some things to work on, but it was a good start heading into our last six games. Alyssa was attacking in the circle, which I really like to see. She had a couple innings that took only four pitches. When she competes and goes after batters, she's hard to hit." - Monmouth head coach Shannon Salsburg

-Baron led off the bottom of the first being hit by a pitch, and advanced to second on a walk from junior Sam Tomasetti. Rosado loaded the bases with another walk.
-Wozniak hit a single up the middle that scored Baron and Tomasetti, putting the Hawks up 2-0.
-After a wild pitch, Monmouth put runners on second and third with no outs, but the next three batters went down.
-In the bottom of the second, Baron belted an RBI double to left center to score senior Jasmine Higa, who reached on a fielder's choice.
-Rosado made it 4-0 with an RBI double to score Baron, and Wozniak followed with an RBI single to send her home.
-Neither team scored again until the bottom of the fifth. Wozniak led off the frame with a walk, and advanced to second on a single from junior Amanda Hopeck.
-Harrington send a single to right field to score Wozniak, and Hopeck scored after a fielding error by Princeton.
-With a 7-0 lead and no outs in the bottom of the fifth, Coreth hit a sacrifice fly to end the game, scoring Harrington.
