RIVERDALE, NY – With 37 seconds left in double overtime, Manhattan gathered a loose ball and placed a shot to the lower right corner to defeat the Monmouth University men's soccer team, 1-0.
The Hawks had a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal prior to the game-winner. Redshirt junior
John Antunes (Fairfield, NJ/St. Benedict's) had three shots on goal, while junior
Sebastian Rodriguez (Cartago, Costa Rica/Mont Berkeley) added two.
Monmouth did not allow a shot on goal until the first overtime period, and the attempt was saved by redshirt sophomore
Sean Murray (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood). The Hawks will host Niagara for Senior Day on Saturday.
