LAST TIME OUT
Outscoring the Hawks 31-16 in the third quarter, Loyola earned its first win of the season over Monmouth on Dec. 22, 75-67. Monmouth took a 33-26 lead at halftime, but the Greyhounds shot 12-16 from the floor in the third quarter to take an eight point lead. Junior Sierra Green scored in double figures for the ninth time in the last 10 games, leading the way with 18 points on another six triples. Freshman Lucy Thomas notched a double-double for the second consecutive game, adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. Thomas was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on Dec. 24 for those efforts.
 
SCOUTING THE IONA GAELS
The Gaels have lost seven straight games, with their only win of the season coming on November 18 against George Washington. Iona lost four starters from a year ago, with junior Morgan Rachu now leading the way at 13.3 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. Freshman Shyan Mwai, freshman Juana Camilion, and redshirt sophomore Monica Barefield are all contributing between 6.0 and 7.0 PPG. The Gaels were selected to finish 10th in the MAAC Preseason Poll.

Iona holds a slight 9-8 all-time series lead, but Monmouth won both games last year.
