WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team dropped a tight non-conference matchup to Lafayette on Tuesday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.

Senior Bryce Wasserman netted four goals and an assist to lead Monmouth offensively, while Lafayette was led by Bryan Hess' four-goal effort.

The game, which was close throughout, was tied on five occasions and featured a nine-goal fourth quarter. Lafayette built a 5-2 lead in the second before Monmouth reeled off four straight to take a 6-5 advantage at the midpoint of the third. From there, Lafayette responded with a pair of goals to regain the lead and then broke an 8-8 tie with three goals in the fourth quarter to make it 11-8 with 2:12 to play.

Monmouth made it interesting as Gordon Phillips and Zach Clemente each scored less than a minute later, but Lafayette held on for the 11-10 win.

- Freshman Noah Lode made 10 saves in goal for Monmouth. It was Lode's seventh double-digit save performance.
