MEN’S TENNIS SWEEPS QUINNIPIAC, 7-0

HAMDEN, CT – The Monmouth University men's tennis team improved to 6-0 in the MAAC this afternoon, defeating Quinnipiac 7-0. The Hawks won their eighth straight game with the victory, winning all six singles matches and all three doubles matches. Junior Nicola Pipoli earned the 6-4, 6-2 win over Julian Rozenstein at No. 1 singles, and teamed up with freshman Will Cooke Wharton for the 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Junior Srdjan Jakovljevic took home victories at No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles with teammate Sergio Martinez. Senior Ale Gomez Estrada and sophomore Max Benaim earned the No. 2 doubles win, while Gomez Estrada also won at No. 3 singles and Benaim at No. 4 singles. The Hawks improved to 12-13 (6-0 MAAC) on the season, and will try to clinch the #1 seed in the MAAC Tournament at Marist tomorrow.
