BETHLEHEM, PA – Scoring the first 12 points of the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach, Lehigh defeated the Monmouth University women's basketball team on Tuesday morning, 63-48. The Hawks trailed by just three with 8:45 left in the third quarter, but Lehigh had a 31-19 advantage the rest of the way. Junior
Sierra Green led the Hawks with 16 points in the loss, drilling another triples. Freshman
Lucy Thomas went into double-figures for the second consecutive game, adding 12 points and five rebounds. Monmouth drops to 0-3 on the season, and will travel to ACC opponent Virginia Tech on Friday.

-After a back-and-forth opening frame, Monmouth knotted the game at 10 on a Thomas jumper. A Mountain Hawks three-pointer and free throw gave them a 14-10 lead at the end of the first.
-For the second straight game, Green went off in the first half. This time, she poured in 14 points on three triples. Green scored more than half of Monmouth's points, as Lehigh took a 32-27 lead into halftime.
-Lehigh scored eight straight points to go up 40-29 after a Monmouth layup cut the deficit to three to start the third quarter.
-Another tight quarter saw the Mountain Hawks hold a slight 16-14 advantage in the third quarter. Heading into the final frame, Lehigh led 48-41.
-Lehigh scored the first 12 points of the fourth quarter to take a commanding 60-41 lead. The 19-point lead was its largest of the game.
-Eventually outscoring the Hawks 15-7 in the fourth quarter, Lehigh sealed the 15-point win.

Emani Clough went into double-figures for the first time this season. She scored 11 points on 5-14 from the floor.
-Green made her first start of the season. In the first half of the last two games, she has scored 30 points.

Rosa Graham filled up the stat sheet with five rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two points. She also played a career-high 32 minutes.
-Lehigh shot 36.5% from the floor, while Monmouth shot 35.2%.
-The Mountain Hawks scored 21 points off turnovers.

The Hawks will travel to Virginia Tech for a 7:00 PM tip on Friday. In the first-ever matchup between the teams last season, the Hokies earned an 84-34 win.
