Luke Bromley, the Monmouth University men's soccer team fell to Iona in overtime, 2-1. The Gaels capitalized on a penalty kick after the Hawks were called for a handball inside the box. Redshirt freshman
Sean Murray dove to the right side, but the ball went just past his hand and inside the left post. Murray made several big saves to keep the game tied late in regulation and in the overtime period. The Hawks fall to 2-13-1 (0-9 MAAC) on the season, and will travel to Quinnipiac next Wednesday for the season finale.

-Neither team was able to score in the first half, with each team registering three shots.
-Iona got on the board first in the 61
st minute, as Killian Colombie one-timed a corner kick from just outside the 18-yard box.
-Bromley scored the equalizer in the 80
th minute. The Hawks had a free kick from 25 yards out, and the shot ended with an Iona hand ball in the box. Bromley stepped up and placed the ball to the right side as the goalkeeper dove left.
-Iona created a chance with less than eight minutes left, getting a shot off from ten yards out, but Bromley made the sliding tackle.
-With less than two minutes remaining, an Iona header looked like it was heading into the back of the net, but Murray made a diving fingertip stop to keep it tied.
-Murray made another big save in overtime, stopping a shot inside the six with his leg.
-Iona attempted to cross the ball late in the first overtime period, and a Hawks defender inadvertently touched it with his hand. The Gaels scored the game-winner on the penalty.
NUMBERS CRUNCH
-Bromley scored his team-leading third goal of the year.
-The Hawks played in their fourth overtime game of the season.
-Murray made two saves, increasing his season total to 81.
-Sophomore
Anes Mrkulic led the team with five shots in the loss.
