EDISON, NJ – The Monmouth University women's basketball team has been selected seventh in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, the office announced Tuesday night.
The positions and Preseason All-MAAC Teams were made during the 2018-19 MAAC Men's and Women's Basketball Preseason Awards Show. Monmouth ended the 2017-18 campaign with a 10-21 (7-11 MAAC) overall record en route to their fifth straight MAAC Quarterfinals appearance. The No. 9 Hawks beat No. 8 Canisius in the MAAC Tournament, 61-58, despite trailing by 13 points late in the third quarter.
Monmouth will open the season on Tuesday, November 6 when it hosts Bucknell. The Blue & White begin conference play on Friday, January 4 at Iona.
