th minute goal that was partially blocked gave Canisius the 1-0 win over the Monmouth University men's soccer team on Saturday night. Golden Griffins forward Filippo Tamburini shot across his body from the inside of the 18, and the ball deflected off a Monmouth defender and into the left side of the net for the game's lone goal. The Hawks registered eight shots in the second half, but could not find the equalizer. Redshirt freshman
Sean Murray made another eight saves in the loss, and now has 73 saves on the season to lead the MAAC. Monmouth has four matches left in the regular season, beginning with Saint Peter's on Wednesday.
