WOMEN’S SOCCER EXTENDS WINNING STREAK TO SIX

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY– In a matchup of the top two teams in the MAAC, it was the Monmouth University women's soccer team who prevailed over Marist by a 1-0 margin on Wednesday night at Tenney Stadium.

The Hawks controlled the action for a majority of the match and took advantage of a set piece early in the first half to make the difference. Junior Jessica Johnson's 14th minute free kick from the left sideline beat Marist goalie Abigail Renaud to the far upper corner and the Hawks took the lead for good.

Monmouth goalie Amanda Knaub was credited with three saves on the other end as Monmouth secured its sixth consecutive victory.
