Holding the Hawks to just 7-of-33 in the second half, Marist held off Monmouth in its MAAC opener last Saturday night, 69-46. The Red Foxes outscored Monmouth in all four quarters, including a 12-5 margin in the fourth. Sophomore

Rhaiah Spooner-Knight added 11 points in the loss, while sophomore
Alexa Middleton nearly earned a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds. The Hawks dropped to 2-10 (0-1 MAAC) on the season, and will travel to Fairfield on January 5 for an 11:00 AM conference matchup.
SCOUTING THE FAIRFIELD STAGS
The Stags improved to 5-8 (2-0 MAAC) on the season after a 59-53 overtime victory over Niagara on Tuesday. The team previously defeated Canisius on December 29 by a score of 56-52. Fairfield is led by redshirt senior forward Samantha Cooper, who is averaging a double-double with 15.0 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game. Cooper was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team along with Monmouth's
Kayla Shaw. Redshirt junior Khadidiatou Diouf is adding 11.1 points per game with 6.7 rebounds per game, while sophomore guard Sam Kramer is also a double-digit scorer with 11.0 points per contest.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. FAIRFIELD
Fairfield owns a 9-5 all-time series advantage over the Hawks, but Monmouth earned the 60-53 road overtime win in the last meeting.
Kayla Shaw's three-pointer with less than a second remaining tied the game at 50, and the Hawks bested Fairfield in overtime to take the win.
Alexa Middleton pulled down a career-best 16 rebounds in the win.
