John Antunes and buried his sixth career goal in the 76
th minute, but the Monmouth University men's soccer team could not find the equalizer at Columbia on Tuesday night, falling 2-1. Goalkeeper
Bobby Edwards kept the Hawks in the game with six saves, and has now totaled 14 saves in his last two games. The Hawks drop to 2-3-1 on the season after competing against the defending Ivy League Champions, and will travel to #25 UMass-Lowell on Saturday.
NOTES
-Monmouth conceded its first first-half goal of the season, as Francisco Agrest finished the turnaround shot after receiving the head flick from Arthur Bosua.
-The Lions extended their lead to 2-0 in the 62
nd minute, as Bosua deflected the pass from Swain close to the six.
-In the 76
th minute, Pereira received the feed from Antunes and placed it inside the right post from just inside the 18.
-Monmouth still leads in the all-time series versus Columbia, 4-2.
