FAIRFAX, VA – The Monmouth University women's tennis team was defeated by George Mason and Christopher Newport this week, 7-0 and 6-1. Chioma Gabriel picked up the lone win for the Hawks, as she beat Christopher Newport's Isabelle Wessel at #4 singles by a score of 6-4, 6-1. Kendal Kauffman nearly earned Monmouth's second win against Christopher Newport, as she took Claire Dockrill to a third set with the final score coming at 6-1, 4-6, 10-8. The Hawks were defeated in all three doubles matches, as Kauffman and Caroline Mattise were edged, 6-4.
