BROOKLYN, NY – After falling to Marist in its spring opener, the Monmouth University women's tennis team picked up its first win of 2017 over St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday morning, 5-2. Senior Adriana Armendariz earned the win at #1 singles before teaming up with Maria Ivanova for the 6-0 victory at #2 doubles. The Hawks will play five matches in the next seven days, beginning with a 10:30 AM match with Niagara tomorrow morning in West Long Branch.
NOTES
-Armendariz won the #1 singles match by a score of 6-2, 6-1 before blanking the Terriers with Ivanova in the doubles portion.
-Kendal Kauffman, Chioma Gabriel, and Maria Ivanova all earned singles wins at #4, #5, and #6 singles, respectively.
-Kauffman joined Caroline Mattise at #3 doubles to take the convincing win.
