ARLINGTON, VA- Monmouth baseball was beaten by George Washington on Saturday afternoon, 12-0 at Barcroft Park. The teams have now split the first two games of the three-game weekend series.
GW scored in five of the first six innings, and used a five-run second inning to jump out to a 6-0 lead. The Colonials used five hits in the inning to score five times, capped off by Chapman's two-run double.
George Washington added three runs in the sixth, two coming on a double by Selby to extend the lead to 12-0. GW starter Shane Sweeney tossed a complete game, allowing three hits and three walks.
