NOTES AND QUOTES

“It was just one of those games where it seemed like we couldn't get anything going on the offensive end. They really shot the ball well, especially from the three-point line and we couldn't withstand that. We didn't adjust very well to the physicality and the way the game was being called, especially in the first half.” - Monmouth head coach Jenny Palmateer

-Monmouth stifled the Quinnipiac offense early, as the Bobcats scored just two points in the first 4:25 of action.

-Quinnipiac started to heat up towards the end of the first quarter thanks to two Sarah Shewan three-pointers, building a 17-9 lead.

-After an Alexa Middleton layup with 8:39 left in the second quarter, Monmouth trailed by just four. The Bobcats would eventually outscore Monmouth 22-13 in the quarter and went into halftime leading 39-22, shooting 8-13 from beyond the arc in the half.

-Quinnipiac did not let up in the third quarter, outscoring the Hawks 18-15 in the period and taking the 20-point lead into the fourth.

-QU led by as many as 30 with 6:56 left in the fourth quarter at 72-42.

NUMBERS CRUNCH

-Monmouth held a two-point lead with 5:35 left in the first quarter, but Sarah Shewan's three-pointer shortly after gave Quinnipiac the lead for good.

-The teams are now even at 1-1 this season, but QU takes the 23-17 all-time series lead.

-The Hawks rolled out the same starting lineup for the ninth straight game, with Alaina Jarnot, Kayla Shaw, McKinzee Barker, Taylor Nason, and Christina Mitchell getting the nod.

-Monmouth has now lost three straight games, including a double overtime loss against Siena and a two-point loss against Rider two days ago.

-Shaw hit her 66th three-pointer of the season, and has made at least one triple in 20 out of 22 games this season.

-Monmouth's bench once again outscored the opponent's bench, making it 20 out of 22 games that has occurred this season.
