QUICKLY
The Hawks dropped their third straight game with a 78-61 loss at Fairleigh Dickinson last Wednesday. The Knights shot 48.4% from the floor, 54.5% from three-point land, and sunk 12 of 15 free throws, in addition to holding the Hawks to just 3-26 from beyond the arc. Senior Rhaiah Spooner-Knight matched a season-high of 18 points, making her first eight field goals. Junior Erica Balman matched a career-high for the third time this season, scoring 10 points while blocking three shots. Sophomore Alexa Middleton grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds in the loss, including five on the offensive glass. With Jenny Palmateer being replaced on Friday afternoon, top assistant Jody Craig will take over head coaching duties, beginning with Tuesday's matchup against Virginia Tech (9-2).
 
SCOUTING THE VIRGINIA TECH HOKIES
The Hokies are currently riding a four-game win streak, in which they defeated their opponents by an average of 33 points. Virginia Tech's only losses this season have come against Butler (79-77) and #11 West Virginia (79-61). The team is led by redshirt junior forward Regan Magarity who registers 15.4 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game. Junior guard Taylor Emery is adding 15.2 points per game, while junior forward Alexis Jean scores 13.3 points per contest while grabbing 8.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Chanette Hicks pours in 12.5 points per game, and leads the team with 6.9 assists per game.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. VIRGINIA TECH
The teams will meet for the first time on Tuesday. Monmouth is 0-14 all-time against ACC opponents, including a 57-54 loss at Clemson earlier this season.
