The Monmouth University women's basketball team opens its 2017-18 season with three straight home games, starting with Sacred Heart on Friday night in game one of a Monmouth Basketball doubleheader. After advancing to its fourth straight quarterfinals, the Hawks were picked fifth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll. Sophomore guard
Kayla Shaw was named to the Preseason MAAC All-MAAC Third Team after hitting a program record 93 three-pointers last season. Monmouth returns seven players that averaged at least 12 minutes per game last season, while also adding transfer
Rhaiah Spooner-Knight and freshmen forwards
Selina Dockery (Finland) and
