MONMOUTH FALLS TO PRINCETON IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

PRINCETON, NJ – The No. 13 ranked Princeton University women's soccer team upended Monmouth by a 4-0 margin in the First Round of the 2017 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament on Friday night at Roberts Stadium.

Mimi Asom scored twice for Princeton on the night, netting the opening goal of the night six minutes after the opening whistle to help the Tigers secure the early lead. Abby Givens added a second for the home side 15 minutes later as Princeton took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Asom pushed the Princeton lead to 3-0 in the 66th minute, before Carolyne Davidson tacked on a fourth goal a little more than five minutes later.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Amanda Knaub made her 34th consecutive start in goal and made seven saves.
- Knaub finished with seven saves in both matches against the Tigers this season.
- Miranda Konstantinides took Monmouth's lone shot on goal in the second half.
- The Tigers finished with a 28-6 advantage in shots, and an 12-1 cushion in shots on goal. Princeton took eight corners to Monmouth's one.

NEXT UP
The Hawks end their 2017 season with a 15-4-2 overall record, the most wins for the team since 2013.
