MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS QUINNIPIAC ON SENIOR DAY, 1-0

Quinnipiac (6-9-1, 5-4-0 MAAC) – 0
Monmouth (6-9-2, 3-5-1 MAAC) – 1

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Junior Luke Bromley headed home a corner kick from senior Jake Areman in the 71st minute, and the Monmouth University men's soccer team took down preseason MAAC favorite Quinnipiac on Saturday night, 1-0. The Hawks needed to win to keep their postseason hopes alive, but an Iona draw with Canisius eliminated Monmouth from the conference tournament. Senior goalkeeper Chris Seager made his first start of the season and earned his first career win, making two impressive saves and swiping dangerous balls on multiple occasions. The goal was Bromley's second of the season, and Areman picked up his team-leading fourth assist of the season. Monmouth is now 5-1-1 at home this season. Despite being eliminated from the postseason, the Hawks will play one more regular season game when they host Niagara on Wednesday.
