The Hawks, winners of three of their last four, are coming off a dramatic, come-from-behind 57-56 victory Thursday at Manhattan. Monmouth trailed from the three-minute mark of the first quarter until
Jasmine McCall buried two free throws with 9.7 seconds left in the fourth to put the Hawks over the top. Fairfield has won six straight, including a 76-49 win over Saint Peter's on Friday.
SCOUTING THE FAIRFIELD STAGSKelsey Carey leads Fairfield at 12.5 points per game, while shooting a league-leading 49.6 percent. Kristin Schatzlein (11.3 ppg.) and Casey Smith (11.2 ppg.) have also averaged in double figures. Samantha Cooper has added 8.5 points and a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game. Lizzy Ball leads the MAAC in assists per game (5.2) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.7).
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. FAIRFIELDFairfield owns a 7-3 lead in the all-time series. The two teams had split four meetings the last two years with the home team winning each game, until the Stags took a 68-60 victory Jan. 30 at the MAC. Two of the five games over the last three years have gone to overtime, with each team winning once.
