Following its first season-opening win since 2010-2011, Monmouth University's women's basketball team heads to St. Francis Brooklyn, a team they have beaten 52 times in 57 games. The Hawks displayed depth in their win at Robert Morris on Sunday, using 11 players in the first quarter alone. After losing four of its five top scorers from last year, Monmouth added eight new players, including six freshmen. One of those freshmen is Alaina Jarnot, who earned a start in her first career collegiate contest and added nine points, five assists, and four rebounds. Fellow freshman Rosa Graham scored 14 points, hitting on all six of her free throws. It wasn't just the freshmen that impressed in Moon Township. Senior guard Tyese Purvis led all scorers with 15 points, while Helena Kurt notched in 11 points and five assists in her first game returning from injury.
