WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University Women's Basketball Head Coach
Jenny Palmateer has announced the hiring of
Jamie Nash as an assistant coach on her staff. Nash comes to the Blue & White following a two-year stint at the University of the Incarnate Word. Nash's two years at Incarnate Word coincided with the Cardinals' transition to NCAA Division I in the Southland Conference.
“I am very excited to have Jamie join my staff,” said Palmateer. “She is a very charismatic person and from day one, her passion and enthusiasm have been contagious. She is an up-and-coming star in the coaching profession and I look forward to the impact she will make on our program.”
As an undergrad, Nash enjoyed a very successful Division I playing career. She was a four-year starter for the University of Nebraska Omaha as a point guard. Nash was ranked in the top 20 nationally in all four years in steals and the top 10 for her final two years in assists. A member of the UNO 1,000-point club with 1,106 career points, she holds the program career records at UNO with 564 assists and 361 steals, as well as numerous single-season records.
She graduated cum laude from UNO, earning a Bachelors' degree in General Studies Health Administration. She was also honored as her academic department's top graduating student.
Nash also gained experience working as an instructor for the elite Point Guard College training camps. PGA is an intensive training camp for basketball players from all divisions.
A native of Aurora, Missouri, Nash was a four-year starter and standout player for Aurora High School, earning numerous local, district and state awards.
