WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – In its spring home opener, the Monmouth University women's tennis team fell to intrastate rival Seton Hall, 7-0, at the MU Tennis Courts. With tough wind conditions, Hall took the doubles point quickly, only giving up a total of three games, before taking all six singles matches.

At No. 1, sophomore Adriana Armendariz (Pamplona, Spain/Colegio San Ignacio) fell short against opponent Hannah Liljekvist, 6-2, 6-3. Senior Ashley Sandler (Jericho, N.Y./Syosset) nearly forced a third set, but her No. 2 counterpart Luzie Strike held on to win 6-3, 6-4.

Monmouth will host conference foe Niagara, Saturday April 4th at 11:00 a.m.
