WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University women's tennis team's bid for three-straight victories was halted by Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference leader Quinnipiac, falling to the Bobcats, 7-0, Saturday morning at the MU Tennis Courts. Sophomore Adriana Armendariz (Pamplona, Spain (Colegio San Ignacio [Maryville]) won the lone set for the Blue and White at No. 1 singles.
Quinnipiac, which improves to a perfect 8-0 in league play, won the doubles point before taking all six singles matches. Armendariz opened with a first set victory over Sophia Dzulynsky, but the Bobcat rallied in the final two sets 6-2, 10-3 to keep MU off the board.
Monmouth returns to the courts on Monday, April 20th when it hosts Marist at noon. Due to the threat of inclement weather in the area, the match will take place at the New Shrewsbury Racquet club in Shrewsbury, N.J.
