PHILADELPHIA – Junior Adriana Armendariz (Pamplona, Spain/Colegio San Ignacio [Maryville]) earned a win at No. 1 singles, but the Monmouth University women's tennis team fell at Drexel, 6-1, Saturday afternoon. The Dragons took the remaining five singles flights, as well as all three doubles matches to earn the other six points in the match.

Armendariz defeated Erin Bowsher, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 1 singles for the Hawks' lone victory. The Dragons took the top doubles flight by a 6-1 tally, while blanking the Hawks, 6-0, at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to take the point. Freshman Alexandra Graff (Bastad, Sweden/IMG Academy) came closest to a victory in the remaining singles matches, but fell, 6-1, 6-4, to Anisiya Simpson at No. 2.

The Hawks close out the fall season Tuesday, when they travel to hOURglass rival Saint Peter's. Matches are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
