WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University, entering its second season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in 2014-15, rewarded women's basketball head coach Jenny Palmateer with a contract extension on Wednesday afternoon.

Palmateer, who is in her fourth year at the helm of the Hawks, originally signed a five-year contract upon her appointment as the seventh head coach in program history on April 21, 2011. The new deal extends Palmateer's contract to 2019.

"From the first time I met Jenny, I was impressed by her optimistic outlook," said stated Monmouth Vice President and Director of Athletics, Dr. Marilyn McNeil. "Jenny believes in Monmouth, and imbues that belief to everyone who meets her. This contract extension affirms our confidence in her optimism for Monmouth Women's Basketball!"

 Monmouth opens its 2014-15 campaign on Saturday night, November 15, when the Hawks host Lehigh University at 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Activity Center.
