The Hawks got on the board in the 8th minute when senior midfielder
Alexandra Baca (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) played a through ball to McTamney for a break, as the forward beat NJIT goalkeeper Samantha Bersett for her third career goal. Monmouth increased its advantage to 2-0 in the 73rd minute when freshman midfielder
Julie Spracklin (Eastampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) slipped a pass to McTamney for her fourth goal in two games.
The Blue and White grabbed the 3-0 lead in the 77th minute when junior back
Alexa Freguletti (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) crossed a ball into the box which Costello settled, turned and fired into the net for her 22nd career goal.
