BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Brooke Verdiglione (Englishtown, N.J./St. John Vianney) earned a No. 2 singles victory, but the Monmouth University women's tennis team fell to Lehigh, 6-1, Tuesday afternoon at the Lewis Tennis Center. 

Verdiglione scored her fourth singles win of the season, downing Lehigh's Abby Farrell 6-1, 6-4.  Sophomore Ashley Sandler (Jericho, N.Y./Syosset) nearly staged a comeback in a back-and-forth No. 3 singles matchup with Alexandra Kaminetsky.  After dropping the first set, 7-6, Sandler cruised to a 6-1 second set victory.  The pair went back-and-forth in the tiebreaker which saw Kaminetsky edge the second-year Hawk, 12-10.

Monmouth takes on Delaware State on Wednesday at the MU Tennis Complex before welcoming in Saint Francis (Pa.) into West Long Branch on Saturday, April 6th.
