WEST LONG BRANCH,
N.J.- Monmouth University women's tennis team fell to 0-2 on the week with
a 5-2 setback against Manhattan College (2-0).
Manhattan swept the doubles point, while taking four of the six singles points.
Sophomore Dana Ferrari (Saddlebrook, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) won the No.
3 singles match, 6-3, 6-0 while Britney Dupuis (Freehold, N.J./Colts Neck)
battled back from a first set deficit to earn a 2-6, 7-5, 10-7 victory at the
third singles position. Newcomer Brooke
Verdiglione almost pulled out a win at the number two singles match, going
ahead 6-1 in the first set but dropping the final two 7-5, 10-5.
Monmouth will look to the Naval Academy Tournament this weekend for its first
win of the 2010-11 season.
