The Monmouth University women's tennis team dropped its final match of the fall
season against Sacred Heart, 6-1, on the Monmouth Tennis Courts. The loss drops
MU to 2-7 and 1-2 against Northeast Conference opponents for the fall season.
The
Hawks were without No. 1 singles player Nicole Lippens (West Long Branch,
N.J./Shore Regional) and No. 4 singles player Britney Dupuis (Freehold,
N.J./Colts Neck) for the third consecutive match due to injury.
Sacred
Heart won the top five singles matches against the depleted Monmouth squad, as
the Hawks lone point came from the sixth singles position. Senior Reciel Arribe
(Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) knocked off Kristin Legenza in straight sets,
6-2, 6-3. In doubles, the Pioneers swept three matches to secure the team
point.
